The standard of refereeing just doesn't match up
How many times have we cried,"Referee Kayu...referee kayu..." at our TV set over another very, very poor refereeing decision? How many times have we called for the linesman aka assistant referee(upgraded) to be executed because he decides to raise his hand and the flag to disallow a goal, which is more than 100% a legitimate one? How many?Did you watch the match between Arsenal and Liverpool on Sunday night? Alonso got his 2nd bookable offence after he slipped and caught Flamini's legs, while making a turn in front of the Italian boy.
What happened next was unbelievable; the referee gave Alonso a second yellow card and of course the red one after that. OH MY GOD!!! Did he saw the tackle? Seriously, if he is not sure(in this case, he definitely is not watching), he should consult his linesman, I mean assistant referee.
Giving a red card at such an important match and at such a crucial time(81st min), the referee has to be 100% sure.

What can be worse than wrongfully been awarded a red card? The referee refuses to barge and admit his error, the red card stands, you are banned for a match and you can't appeal. RIDICULOUS BUT TRUE.

According to report, FIFA does not encourage referees to change their decision unless it is due to a case of mistaken identity. OUTRIGHT NO SENSE!!!
It is really high time that video replay is included in the game. Probably not for all decisions, which will ultimately kill the flow of the game but definitely for crucial decision, a good example will be for send offs.
