Part III : New boots from adidas - +F50 TUNIT
OK guys, did manage to look at the boots and here is my review on it.First Look
OK, It looks as cool as the promotional photos. I almost don't want to believe that this is a pair of football boots. I later realise that my disbelief comes from the fact that I have been so use to the K leather and not the synthetic material used for F50.

The Boots
I was shown the white pair. It comes with a pretty nice box and the standard pack comes with the upper(the shoe), chassis(lace + screw in for studs), 3 types of studs(for soft, hard and firm ground) and the stubskey that helps to secure the studs. The premium pack comes with 3 uppers, meaning you can swop colours as and when you want, interesting. And in about 2 months, you will also be able to buy just the chassis only, which means you can change the colour of your boots.
The upper looks durable and easier to clean compare to a leather boots. The surface is definitely waterproof and it should be easy also to remove soil stains on it. The upper has a piece of base that is glued to it, which is quite standard. I examine the adhesion and it looks pretty strong.
The chassis is a thick sole with studs screw-ins. I was a bit worry about the studs putting too much press directly on the feet but it looks like adidas has got that covered. The hard plastic base beneath the sole have that taken care of.
Try Out

Ok, no field try out, so I just put it on and just give it a few tap. Although, the shoe looks pretty wide at the front, I still fine it a bit crampy. Its either because I have a flat squarish foot(its true) or because the foot is brand new and need some "warming up".
Next thing, I tried assemblying the boots. Pretty straight forward and you just need a few tries to get the hang of it. First, put the chassis

into the upper, then flip over and get ready to put on the studs from the bottom side. You can either do the front or the back first. Simply twist all the studs into position. Once all done, use the studskey to lock the studs. And.....you are done. Pretty easy huh.....I think a newbie will take about 2-3mins to do it and once you are familiar with it, it should take less than a min. That is more than enough time for you to change your boots settings during half time.Verdict
It is nice, it is cool. The changeable feature is a big plus point. You don't want to buy a few pair of boots for different ground condition. It will definitely cost you more. The changing of the upper is a bonus. However, at a suggested retail price of S$319, it is probably a bit too expensive for most of us. I will definitely recommend it to anyone who has no budget constraint.
Else, wait and see if the price drop to between S$180 to S$230, I think this will then make it a good buy.
Thanks to Eric for making the arrangement and Dexter for taking the time to show it to me.
